Community gathering August 6th
July 24, 2009
Northshore Senior Center invites everyone to join the community gathering on August 6th at 7pm-8:30pm at Alexa's Cafe at 10115 Main Street in Bothell. How could the skills, knowledge and relationships of seniors be used to meet the needs of the community in new ways? Who is going to care for our elders and their families as the senior population in Northshore skyrockets over the next 10 years? Are you part of the "sandwich generation" caring for both your parents and kids? For questions call 425-286-1032 or email leeh@seniorservices.org.

On June 1st, Jennifer Armenta announced her candidacy for Bothell City Council, Position #5. Ms. Armenta is currently serving on the Bothell Parks & Recreation Commission. Recently, she set forth her views on Bothell's current and future plans:
Our City Council recognizes we are in a transition from small town to a small but modern, progressive city. However, we need to preserve our sense of history and the environment that has made Bothell a community where both individuals and families want to live, work, and play.
I am enthusiastic about our future expansion, but we have a responsibility to measure growth with careful planning and implementation. I support the Council's active steps to promote local business. We need to draw consumers away from nearby shopping malls and encourage a return to our downtown merchants for purchases, dining, and recreation. I want to bring my energy and ideas to this important goal. I will listen to you and represent you fairly.
Bothell can respond effectively to development and provide economic opportunities, but we require strong, positive leadership with the ability to enforce policies designed to manage growth while protecting our quality of life.
Bothell is our home and a future home for our children. We must, as a community, commit to being informed. We need to be involved in order to succeed. Look at the current renovations downtown and know that cautious investment in Bothell will benefit all of us.
